Archives: The Resistance
Why
do we fight?
Do
we fight for computers?
Do
we fight for automobiles? Airplanes? Satellites?
Do
we fight for radio, television, internet?
Do
we fight for electric lights? Kitchen appliances?
Do
we fight for plastics, synthetic polymers, or space-age alloys?
Perhaps
we fight for information, communication, or data?
Do
we fight for technology?
Or
do we fight for humanity? For the right to innovate. We fight for the very
concept of freedom. Freedom of information, freedom of speech, freedom of
invention. We fight for the right to choose a better way. We fight because we
trust that mankind can make their own choices, without a government that tells
them what’s ok. We fight because we know that humanity moves upward when we
move forward. We fight because we reject the idea that objects could cause
society to stumble. We reject the idea that the movement of electrons will
somehow destroy the fabric of society. We know that this is not true.
We
don’t fight for devices. We don’t fight for technology. We fight for people,
and the freedom of those people to determine what is best for themselves. We
fight because we refuse to accept that our best days were in the past. We
believe that the best days are yet to come.
That
is why we fight.
